"Irony", can it mean something more if it comes up in (more then) DAILY occurances?

As crazy as it may sound, my boyfriend and I (both age 26, healthy, happy, of sound mind and body) have noticed these "ironic" situations that are literally a daily occurrence. And not just daily, but at least, 3 times a day will these situations come up and right as plain and obvious as can be. (ex: I will mention the most random, out there, far off thing imaginable, ummmm.... AH.... the movie "Willow", (yes, the old movie from back in the beta machine days). Now, wait for it.... sometimes it happens within minutes, seconds, hours, but never longer then 2 - 3 days, and somehow, someway, this movie will pop up either on HBO, or in a completely unrelated conversation, like ping by someone at Wal-mart who is "ironically" talking about this movie. Yes, we know.... how petty, simple and stupid, right? But, imagine this is happening more and more frequently between us, becoming more and more blunt, and with more and more random situations. We have gotten to the point where now when it happens, we just look at each-other and say "There it is". What is "it"? What is causing "it"? Why is "it" happening? We just want to know what is going on. Any advise, insight, input, literally, anything is welcomed as far as an explanation is concerned.
