For me, Limbo = doubt?

Limbo has never been an article of our faith. It has always been theological speculation. I don't think the Church has spoken on limbo not existing. Theologians speculated on how God would deal with the souls of babies who died without baptism. This was never taught as dogma, just a strong maybe. The declaration about limbo is simply saying that we don't teach it as dogma. Pax Christi
