1980 camaro: i have air shocks that won't hold air?

i just installed a 1981 firebird rearend in the camaro and put the same shocks on,now they won't hold air. is there another set-up that i can do that economical and smooth? finally do you recommend cork or rubber gasket for a chrome oil pan?
