Is it weird to request something other than CT scan?

I have to go to a urologist.. I have a feeling he will check for possible kidney stones. This is not an emergency situation as I have no pain. Ok, would it be weird if I ped up a CT scan and requested a sonogram to check for kidney stones? Even though I'm not pregnant? I'm just scared to get a blast of radiation *down there* before having kids. I would if it were life or death. But is this weird to think this way?
