Candy is difficult to make, and you need exactly what the recipe calls for. There is NO good substitute for sweetened, condensed milk; and regular milk isn't even close. You could substitute dark corn syrup for light (it will change the color), but anything else would change the consistency. Moles or cane syrup would be the closest, but way too dark to use. Kahlua isn't even close again; it's a liqueur, not a thick sugar syrup - and alcohol will drastically change the cooking time & temps. Just wait until you have a chance to go to the store
