What exactly do doctors do to test for PCOS?

I have to have a camera ran into my bladder to check for anything abnormal/blockage. Does this hurt? Also i have to get checked for PCOS ( poly cystic ovary syndrome) I know it consist of blood test and a sonogram. I heard that maybe they would use a probe? do you get anesthetic?
